Volunteering
Volunteering is a very worthwhile and satisfactory activity, and it also looks fantastic on a CV! If you are struggling to find a job, perhaps volunteering could be the right option for you.
Aberdeen has its own Volunteering Centre. They are based at the Castlegate, here is their website for more information:

If you are under 25 you can also get involved with the Millenium Volunteer Scheme (also run through the Aberdeen Volunteering Centre). This is a special award that you can work towards, and it is based on the number of hours you volunteer. The certificates are endorsed by the Scottish Government, and are a very impressive thing to own!
There are other charities and organisations around Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire who also look for volunteers. Charity shops often look for people who can dedicate time to help out. Childline also have a base in Aberdeen, and look for volunteers to help take calls from vunerable young people.
