Reporting Faults with your College issue laptop

If your College issue laptop has a fault, this should be reported to the RM-CMIS IT Helpdesk as soon as possible.  It is important that before you leave your laptop for repair that any files you have stored on the laptop have been backed up to USB pen drive or to CD – these files should then be copied over to your home drive using a PC in the IT Centre or Library.

The fault with your laptop will be logged by the duty Helpdesk Administrator.  Where possible an IT Support Engineer will look at your laptop straight away, however if there is a serious fault you will have to leave your laptop overnight for repair.

If your laptop cannot be repaired quickly you will be able to arrange to get a swap from the Library.  The duty Helpdesk Administrator will be able to advise you on this.

The RM-CMIS IT Support Helpdesk is located in the Information & Booking Centre in the College’s Gallowgate Centre, next to main Reception.

Opening Hours

 Monday – Thursday 8.00am to 6.00pm
 Friday 8.00am to 5.00pm
 Saturday 8.00am to 1.00pm
