Funding
There are many sources of funding to help you meet the costs of coming to College.
- Funding for Full-time Non-advanced courses e.g. Introductory, Intermediate 1/2, National Certificate (NC), Scottish Group Award (SGA), Scottish Vocational Qualification (SVQ), National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) and Highers.
- Additional sources of funding available to students on Non-advanced courses
- Funding for Full-time Advanced courses e.g. Higher National Certificate/Diploma (HNC/HND)
- Additional sources of funding available to students on Advanced courses
- Funding for international students
- Other additional funds
Funding For Full-time, Higher National Courses (HNC/HND)
If you can fulfil the residence conditions (normal place of residence in Scotland), you should apply to the Student Awards Agency for Scotland (SAAS) for funding. Early application is recommended. You should apply online at www.saas.gov.uk.
An eligible student will qualify to have the course fee paid on his/her behalf. A student loan, partly means-tested on your or your parents‟ or spouse‟s income, is available for living expenses. No maintenance grant will be available for the student, but additional non-repayable supplementary grants (e.g. lone parent) may be applied for depending on the level of parental or spouse income. A Young Student Bursary/Independent Student Bursary may be available to students who fulfil the eligibility conditions.
