Aberdeen College Bursaries
Bursaries for students on Full-time, Non-advanced courses (e.g. National Certificate, SGA, SVQ) may be awarded by the College to those who are resident in Scotland other than Orkney and Shetland, subject to availability of funds. Students from these Islands should apply to their Islands‟ Councils for bursary support. Students from England and Wales should apply to their own Local Education Authority and those from Northern Ireland to their Education and Libraries Board.
Students may be entitled to maintenance depending on their financial situation or that of their parent(s), spouse or partner. Bursaries will normally be paid in monthly instalments directly into the student‟s bank account. You should apply for a bursary as early as possible to avoid a delay in the payment at the beginning of the session.
Aberdeen College operates a policy of closing dates and every effort should be made to ensure that the bursary application is submitted before the appropriate date. Further information about bursaries and funding can be found on StudentNet.
Students are advised to enquire about their eligibility for a bursary from Learner Services, tel. 01224 612284, email: guidance@abcol.ac.uk – particularly if they have already received a bursary or an award for a previous course of study.
