Where we are
The College operates across three main centres: Gallowgate, Altens, & Clinterty.
Gallowgate Centre
The Gallowgate is the main College administration and teaching centre. It is situated in the heart of the city with easy access to local bus routes and the main national bus and railway stations. It is the largest centre operating across three interlinking buildings - the Tower Block, the East Block and the South Block.
Subjects taught at the Gallowgate include: Art & Design, Visual Communication, Photography, Business Management, Communication & PR, Computing & IT, Childcare, Social Care, Health Care, ESOL, Hairdressing, Beauty Therapy, Highers, Hospitality, Learning Opportunities, Music and Performing Arts, Travel & Tourism, Science, Social Sciences, Sport (also at Aberdeen Sports Village) and TV, Radio & Sound Production.
Altens Centre
Altens Centre is based at Hareness Road within the Altens Industrial Estate which is just off Wellington Road, which forms the beginning of a main arterial route to Stonehaven and the south.
Altens houses all the engineering courses offered at the College. It also delivers automotive courses and is the site for the new £12million construction building which was opened by First Minister for Scotland Alex Salmond in March 2010.
Subjects taught at Altens include: Automotive, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Construction Crafts (i.e. HND Construction Management, Joinery, Plumbing and Painting & Decorating).
Clinterty Centre
Clinterty is approximately nine miles from Aberdeen, south of Blackburn village, approximately one mile west of the main Aberdeen to Inverness road.
The Centre is set in the beautiful Inverurie countryside and is the home to the College's Animal Care Unit. Goats and Shetland Ponies live in the surrounding paddocks while loads of small furry animals, birds and reptiles live in specially created homes.
Subjects taught at Clinterty include: Animal Care, Service Engineering, Floristry and Skills for Work.
