Queen’s Anniversary Prize for Higher and Further Education
Aberdeen College was presented with one of the Queen’s Anniversary Prizes for Higher and Further Education 2010 by Her Majesty the Queen and the HRH Duke of Edinburgh at Buckingham Palace. The Queen’s Anniversary Prizes for Higher and Further Education are a national honour recognising world-class excellence, in any aspect of an institution’s work, which demonstrates evidence of originality, innovation and benefit for the wider community. Prizes are awarded every two years.
Northern Star Business Awards - Best Use of ICT
Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce awarded Aberdeen College the Best Use of ICT at the Northern Star Business Awards for StudentNet & Uni-link websites.
Scotland’s Colleges
Aberdeen College struck gold at the Scotland's Colleges Marketing Awards in the category of Digital Marketing for iTunesU. Aberdeen College also secured the prestigious Grand Prix Prize, as well as a Silver Awards for Events for the Creative Industries Launch.
RoSPA Gold Medal
Aberdeen College were awarded the RoSPA medal at an award ceremony held at the Hilton hotel in Glasgow at the start of October 2010. The award was to signify achieving 7 consecutive ROSPA Gold Level Awards. The award was presented by Lord Brougham & Vaux who congratulated the College on the positive health and safety arrangements in place and our continued high level of performance.
Customer Excellence Standard
The College has held the Charter Mark continuously since 1994, reflecting its commitment to customer service. In 2008 the Charter Mark was replaced by the Customer Excellence Standard. The College first achieved the new Standard following an assessment visit in June 2008, and in June 2009 was successfully reassessed with a grading of 100% compliance awarded for the second time. Yet again in 2010 Aberdeen College was successful in gaining accreditation in this award.
