Keeping Fit
Sports and exercise have an important role to play in maintaining a healthy lifestyle and in order to promote and encourage the health and wellbeing of our students and staff, Aberdeen College provide excellent fitness and gym facilities.
There are Fitness Suites in all centres which are available to all staff and students at lunchtimes, evenings and at times when they are not being used by our sports students for their studies.

The Fitness Suites are free of charge but all first-time users must attend an induction session which you can book onto by emailing sport@abcol.ac.uk.
Get Fit for Summer sessions
The following indoor sports can be played in the gym hall area at the Gallowgate:

- Badminton
- Volleyball
- Unihock
- Yoga
- Aerobics
- Martial Arts
Students who wish to use the gym hall area for any sports are required to organise the activity through sport@abcol.ac.uk.

Legs, Bums & Tums
After a short simple aerobic warm up, a combination of easy to follow exercises focus on improving muscular endurance and tone in the legs, stomach and bottom.
Every Monday 5.15pm – 6.15pm
Games Hall on 7th floor at (Gallowgate Centre)
ABS Blast
A short class dedicated to toning and strengthening the muscles in the abdominal and lower back area for a firmer body and better posture.
Every Tuesday 12.15pm – 12.45pm
Games Hall on 7th floor at (Gallowgate Centre)
Step n Tone
A great calorie burning class involving a variety of movements of different intensity on and around the step that's good for co-ordination as well as the muscles of the thighs and bums.

Circuits
A variety of conditioning exercises combining resistance & aerobic exercise for the whole body workout. All fitness levels catered for.

Tai Chi
Tai Chi – is not only fun but beneficial to your health, your social skills and your general well-being. Regular participation is shown to lower the risk of cardiovascular illness, strengthen bones and improve mood.
